Asuka (Reika Hashimoto) an aspiring model moves to Tokyo to pursue her career. She takes up residence with a moody acquaintance named Kasumi (Kaori Kawamura). Across the street from their apartment Asuka witnesses a bizarre murder – the body was flayed, disemboweled and arranged into a hideous work of art. A series of coincidental murders occurs all of which contain what is possibly the murderers calling card: a black lip print dubbed ‘The Black Kiss’. This gruesome crime thriller in the tradition of SILENCE OF THE LAMBS and SEVEN was originally known as SYNCHRONICITY (Shinkuronishiti).
